In a pilot of 60 patients, provider response rate was 94%, but 17% of patients had outdated vital-status records and trial cohort recruiting statuses caused the largest share of false matches (44%). The authors conclude that meaningful gains in trial enrollment require reliable, publicly maintained data on trial recruiting status at the individual arm or cohort level.
